I know grips and grins are frowned upon here, so I'll make this an informative post. After a 20 year hiatus on fishing, I recently got back in to fishing as an adult and this sub has been so incredibly useful. There's a lake near my house in central NC that is stocked with bass, pickerel, and channel cats. A whole compliment of carp and panheads to go with them. In my excitement and enthusiasm to get back in to the sport I've been throwing all the greatest hits for rip shit bass action – whopper ploppers, frogs, rooster tails, you name it. Go big or go home right? Well after so many trips of getting skunked, I remembered what my wife is always telling me that "size doesn't matter" so I ducked down to the tiny little pool that the lake's spillway runs in to. Less than ten seconds in to dropping a ned rigged grub lure, I had a bite. It ain't special, it ain't a pb, but goddamn it felt good to hook a panfish off a lure and you bet your top dollar I'm hitting that spot again tomorrow. Don't overthink or overcomplicate things, not every cast needs to catch a primordial monster. A catch is a catch, and that's what it's all about.
