Those or torpedo/cannon ball sinkers would do just fine if you’re dropping bait on a dropper loop. It all just depends on current and depth. Here on the west coast, we generally fish for rockfish with 40lb braid to a 30#/40# topshot and an 8oz-16oz sinker. All in all, you just gotta adjust when needed

Make the sinker line from the swivel way thinner than the main line. Like 30 pound main line and 12 pound sinker line. So when you do get snagged you can still land the fish.
