Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a 7'3 MH Daiwa Tatula Elite rod and was looking for a reel to pair it with. I am fairly new in the world of baitcasting reels and plan on using it for a variety of species, primarily smallmouth and carp so I want something fairly versatile.
I have been looking into some different reels and think that a Daiwa Tatula SV TW seems to be a good option for what I am using it for but am open to other suggestions if there is something better out there.
I was just a little confused about the differences between the different models. I have been looking at the TW 103 as well as the TW 70. From looking it appears that the 70 has the hyperdrive system whereas the 103 does not. It also says that the 103 is a smaller reel size but is it smaller than the 70?
It is very hard to find information out there.

Tatula SV TW has been great for me
I could be wrong but I believe the 103 is “more compact” than the original tatula 100. I dont think it’s smaller than the 70.
To make things more confusing, I believe there is a newer sv tw 100 that has the hyper drive system and ultimate tournament drag where you dont find that in the 103.
I’ve never used the sv 70 but I own both the 103 and the newer sv tw 100 with the bells and whistles or whatever. I will say both reels are very palm-able, very smooth, and I have 0 complaints with either. I have heard nothing but good things about the 70 I’ve just never used one.
If you have never used a tatula or their tws I dont think you’ll be disappointed in any reel in their lineup. Get what looks best, preferably feels best if you can hold one, and/or whatever you want to spend.
