Hello!

A few months ago, I posted about the desire to get back into fishing after a decades long absence. I just want to thank you guys again for providing the help and assistance that got me back into the game. Appreciated… and I've included two recent photos as evidence. 😀

Back with more questions tho!

I've been using a fish finder rig up until this point, which has been working out well. However, I'd like to start expanding things a bit and try using a dropper rig. However, as is usually the case, there are a few things that I'm a bit unclear on or need help with.

The dropper loop is a simple enough knot. I've 30 lb fluorocarbon leader and with 4/0 hooks, it's grand. However, I'd also like to downsize the hooks, and when trying to get the leader through the eye of a #2 for smaller species, it just isn't happening…

I've read you can cut the loop and snell the hook with a single strand. This makes me nervous as if the knot does slip, there goes the rig.

Are there better options?

Thanks!
