I caught this poor feller and it was all cut and scratched up with most of its scales missing. Wild fish so it’s not from tank scrubbing. It’s eye opening to see what these fish go through in the wild and how fragile they can be.
Heron attack? Raccoon? Mink? Grip n grinner with sharp fingernails? Your guess is as good as mine.

Probably a bird. Lots of Kingfisher on my stream so that would be my first thought on my side, but it does look like a bird tried to nab it.
