I've been fishing my whole life, and I haven't caught a wild brook trout since I was a kid. In fact, I don't catch many trout at all. The rivers are full of bass and pike and that seems to be all I can catch.
I did catch this 15" rainbow this spring. I studied water temperatures, depth maps, and tried out a variety of lures and flies. No brookies. One rainbow trout for the whole season.
Any tips on how I can target specific trout species? Or catch more trout in general?
