caught this on a light rod yesterday in SoCal like 10 tards away from the shore. im not too good at identifying fish yet but i believe this to be a California Corbina?

does anybody take these home to eat?

if so, what would be a simple way to prepare and eat this kinda fish? i’m a terrible cook and a novice angler, however i am looking to improve these two aspects of my life
