Started my fishing journey 2 weeks ago when I bought a kids kayak from Walmart for $75 to go out and paddle with my friends. They are super new to fishing too and we found a discarded line and decide to get fishing license and see if we could catch anything. They have been much more successful than me have gotten at least a couple of fish with a beer can fishing rod each time we went out.
I decided to go out solo on Saturday and ran into the game warden. Naturally I was super anxious I was doing something wrong but he could not have been more helpful. I told him that this was my first time going out by myself and I have never caught a fish before. He chatted with me for an hour to give tips and even gave me a fishing magazine!
With the game wardens advice I bought worms this morning and caught my first ever fish. Two casts later and I picked up a much smaller sunny! Ended the morning by getting a perch. But this just goes to show you that literally anyone can go out and do this hobby because I knew nothing about fishing until this month and now I’m hooked (literally)!!!
