I've been bass fishing for about 18 months, mostly hitting smaller neighborhood ponds and lakes here in St. Cloud, FL. Over the last few week or two, I've been dialing in a dedicated pond kit to carry around easily, using a Plano Weekender bag with two Plano Edge 3600 boxes. Here's how I've got it set up right now—would really appreciate any advice on things I might be missing, or suggestions on what to trim or swap out for more efficient pond fishing:

- Gary Yamamoto Senko 5" – Plum w/ Small Emerald Flake

Hard Baits (Edge 3600)
Topwater:

- Googan Poppin Frog
- Booyah Pad Crasher
- Rapala Skitter Walk
- Heddon Super Spook Jr. (Much better at walking this one)

- Bomber Square A
- Lipless Cranks (Rat-L-Traps) – 3 colors (one on rod)

Jigs & Bladed:
- Chatterbait EVOs – 3/8 oz, multiple colors
- Googan Grass Hero Swim Jigs – 3/8 oz
- Football Jigs – 1/2 oz (bluegill and craw colors)
- Flipping Jigs – Googan 1/2 oz and Reaction Tackle 3/8 oz, various colors
Terminal Tackle (Edge 3600)
Weights:
- Tungsten bullet weights (mostly Nako & Strike King), 1/16 oz to 1/2 oz (keeping 2-3 of each size)
- Removing lead weights and redundant pieces soon
Hooks:
- EWG (2/0, 3/0, 4/0 regular and keeper)
- Octopus, circle, mosquito hooks (mostly #1, 2/0)
- Weedless wacky hooks (VMC, weighted/unweighted)
- Weighted belly hooks (w/ and w/o underspin)
- Ned heads, shakey heads, hover-strolling jigheads
- Screw-locks, bobber stops, glass beads
Recent Experiences & Thoughts:
I've caught fish recently using underspins with Crush City swimbaits and Rage Swimmers, as well as flipping Googan Bugs and using Chatterbait EVOs. I fish mostly grassy, mucky-bottom ponds, so lighter weights and weedless presentations work best.
But looking honestly at my kit, there's definitely stuff I'm not reaching for very often—like some of the extra lead weights, spare treble hooks, and a few hard baits. I'm planning to cull those out soon to streamline things.
I haven't added deeper-diving crankbaits yet because most of my fishing is from the bank, but I might add one or two mid-depth cranks to cover more water and replace some unused baits. I also think I have too many jig types for the hardbait box, so maybe I'll throw them into a small 3500-size box separately and lay it on top of everything in the bag.
Here's my FishBrain if you want to check out my catches—I try to detail exactly what I'm using to catch each fish: HERE Not sure if I can post that or not, but can remove it if requested.
Would appreciate any feedback on how I can trim this down or if there are any crucial gaps you think I should address.
Thanks!
