Yes. And no. Definitely able to slap a new tip on there. It’s not gonna be the same rod.

Rod is dead. It was probably weakened before she snapped it anyhow.

It will never be the same. You can’t glue it back together. You can get a repair kit at WallyWorld and replace the tip.

Buy him a new rod. You can play with repair attempts when it’s your own stuff. When you fucked up someone else’s gear – replace it.

The only thing you can really do here is put a new tip on the end, you’d maybe want to remove the next guide down and space them a little better, or not that’s up to you. But there’s no “fixing” that broken section. It’s done. Even if you splinted it somehow it’ll never be the same.

Insist on buying him a new one, and let him pick it out. Otherwise you will get something that most likely isn’t as good or what he wants.
