New to kayak fishing, I have a Newport kayak series (55 lb thrust) that I had to disassemble to fix the throttle control on the handle. Before I reassemble, I’d appreciate some help. The plan is to transom mount this with a PWM.
It seems some people keep the head in tact, leave the throttle on high and hook up the main battery leads to the PWM. Others remove the head completely, bypass the main controller (or whatever that is I have pictured) and just hardwire directly to the PWM. Are there any advantages to one method over the other?
I just don’t wanna go through the aggravation of reassembling if I’m just going to disassemble it again. Thanks for your help and please forgive my ignorance.
