The last months I tried this shimano ultegra fluoro carbon in 0.35mm on my new combo. I used it mainly for twitchbaits, chatterbaits and Carolina Rig. For Chatterbaits and twitchbaits I can absolutely recommend using fluoro carbon because the vibration doesn’t get into your whole body. It’s just more comfortable. For the Finesse Rigs I’m really not sure what to say. On the one hand you don’t have to tie as many knots as before and there is a direct connection from the hook to your rod. On the other hand the hookup ratio was really bad. But I haven’t figured out the whole finesse business for me yet. So it’s possible that I just messed up some bites because I’m not experienced with all those rigs. For the strength I gotta say 0.35mm is a little thick. You get backlashed quite easy and you can’t cast as light lures as with braid. So maybe I will change the line once again. All in all I can say it’s a great choice for vibration baits and twitchbaits e.g. on a secondary rod. But if you want to do some jigging choose braid. It’s more universal. For finesse I will keep on testing because I had the feeling that I got more bites, because the fish can’t see the line and I could catch some decent fish with it.
