The ollie’s near me has these shakespeare contender rods for sale right now at $34.99.
Would this be worth getting to use as a carp rod? I can’t tell if it’s meant to be something more like a saltwater rod.

Honestly, just spend the money on a gx2 rod and pair it with some other reel. Those Contenders aren’t that nice, and typically being at Ollie’s isn’t a great sign.
