How did I break my Anti-Reverse on my Shimano 2500 FX HG?

So this is the second reel that I have ever taken apart, and I have run into an issue with the anti-reverse mechanism (i think). I disassembled the reel to the frame and reassembled it after oiling and greasing sparingly in the recommended spots and the reel works great when the anti reverse mechanism is not engaged (Reel is supposed to go forward and back) but when the mech is engaged (only supposed to go forward) the reel still rotates forward and backward and there is a whole lot of resistance on the main shaft and something around the anti-reverse mech. I did oil the anti-reverse bearings after I disassembled it, but I am confident i put them back together right. I think the issue might be where i mounted the spring for the anti-reverse mech, but I was not able to find the appropriate schematic. Any and all help on this would be graciously appreciated. Not an important reel or anything but it does have sentimental value and i feel like this is a great learning opportunity for me lol
