I just got some slider sinkers to try a fishfinder rig. I've seen some larger rigs use clips to keep the baited hook near the sinker during the cast, after which the the bait slips free. Are these little nubs opposite the clips used that way? Or if not, what are they for?

you hook your bait/hook to it and cast. takes the snap/snag out of casting rigs like that that
