Went shallow creek fishing this weekend and caught a couple of these guys, new to trout fishing and looking for better advice on how to identify trout species. This creek has bull, brown, brook, rainbow and cutthroats.
I believe this is a bull trout from what I’ve researched but I find pictures online always different from what I’ve caught and thought to be a certain species.
Taking any and all advice! I wasn’t particularly set up for the shallow creek. I only had my 6’6” uglystik as this was an unexpected pit stop, having a hard time finding reliable rods online from the 4’2-5’0”. Mostly everything is temu or amazon stuff.
