I bought a brand new rod to get into surf fishing and was twisting drag while setting up to spool it. All of a sudden the top popped off and these two metal things fell out. I have no idea how they go back in. (It’s an EagleClaw surf beast SB60, did I buy a bad one?)

Those are spring clips. Turn the clicker knob upside down and post another photo. I can’t easily find a diagram for that reel.
