I’m going saltwater fishing for the first time in south Florida this month. Will be going to Haulover beach in Miami and fishing off the pier. I only have experience in freshwater and was looking for some rigs to take with me. Are these ok?
Also, I like to use live bait. What would you recommend throwing that I can pick up at a local bait shop?

North Florida pier jit here, I’d buy the cheaper mono rigs at the shop or tie your own. The steel ones are fine though. 1-2oz egg weight should be good for a pier. Get a few #2 inline circle, and a few 2/0-3/0 circles. I personally like to catch bait with my #2, and rig them up on the bigger hook. You can get everything you need at the bait shop.
I personally throw shrimp, fiddler crabs, blue crab chunk when I’m at a pier. You can also scan the beach before getting on the pier for sand fleas, fiddlers and ghost shrimp for some great free bait.
That should work fine. You could throw 2 rods out, fish one with a high-low rig and some shrimp on it to catch you some good bait fish like mullet or whatever, then you could either cut it up, or live rig it. I’d ask at the tackleshop at the pier to see what’s working.
