I got this kayak used a couple years ago and only now got a chance to take it on the water or. Didn't notice this before.
It looks like a place where someone had installed a handle or some other kind of attachment on the bow. Has anyone seen anything like this? It's not just a drilled out hole but it has a steel, threaded insert for attachments.
At this point I'm thinking to just install a handle and silicone. Any one ever see this before? any thoughts?

It’s almost surely part of a rudder mount. The 2 screws on the deck are also part of the rudder.
Thats for a rudder bracket
Rudders aren’t on the bow
Might be a mount for a trolling motor.
