With a heavy heart I have to retire my childhood browning rod gifted to me from my grandfather. It's done some 40 years of hard service pulling up 700lb bluegills. Ahh the memories.
Sadly the 1st section of the rod is *crick cracking* like the cereal so the next large fish will shatter it for sure.
It has lived a wonderful life, now will hang for memories above the fireplace in the cabin where it belongs.
Replacement! However is going to be tough – Browning doesn't exist anymore and I've not kept up at all on rods. Did they get bought out and someone is just erasing the name and rebranding?
Were not all brownings rebranded anyways from their parent company? I heard a rumor that the parent was deliberately playing against itself in the market using secret contracts between different brand names.
Some help in m grieving period please to replace this 3rd arm of mine. I wish for same same if I could ~ I probably cant though so what is my next best bet to replace this lost child? Same length same action?
(note i'm up in canada.) Thanks!
