Been trying out a river near my house, but most of it is very shallow, under 1’ (see first pic), wondering if it’s possible to land anything big.
I’ve been able to find some deeper pools with lots of rock bass jumping and feeding at night, but haven’t gotten any sign of big game.
Would you guys try moving up the river a lot more, or keep at this stretch (couple hundred feet of bends and pools)

Insane amount of minnows and bugs at this section of river as well if that changes anything.

The river I mostly fish in is super shallow. Like 12’ deep at the deepest and mostly only right above the dams. it averages 1’ 1-1/2’ depending on the rain and there’s plenty of decent sized fish in it. They tend to hide under downed trees, under the docks, under the dams, inside the patchy grass stuff that makes like mazes for them to hide in, and under the Lillies now that they have grown out pretty well in some areas.

I fish in a shallow creek. You have to move up and down the bank/water way depending on legality.

I was bait fishing last week and hit a 3.5 pound small mouth in a stretch the water had eroded
