I saw another user post his side mounted trolling motor mount, so I decided to post mine as well. Made out of pressure treated 2×2 and a piece of 1×4 strapping. I whittled down the pressure treated 2×2 to friction fit in the rod holders behind my seat and bolted the strapping to them with a galvanized carriage bolt. With one carriage bolt on each side the 2x2s can rotate enough to easily install and remove into the rod holders. It is a very crude design but requires no drilling into my yak. My next step is to design a cable steered trolling motor mounted on the transom of my flint but this works for the time being. I'm waiting until I can spend the money on a nicer trolling motor to make a pwm and steering system.
