Ive been Carp fishing exclusively with premade rigs since I started. Ive had great success. But I’m bored and want to start making my own. I suppose it might make a difference so i should mention that I fish wild carp in north american waters.
This is my first homemade rig, taking inspo from the premade rigs i like using. But I took a chance on these hooks instead of the regular ones im used to cuz I thought they looked cool.
I should also mention that i dont really fish with popups/wafters as I havent had much luck. The wafter in the photo was for spacing the hair when making it. I typically fish with bottom sitting baits like tigernuts or corn or boilies

Looks like a bite to me. If you use coated braid (semi stiff let’s say), you eliminate the possibility of tangles even more.
Remember when using popups instead of wafters, place a split shot weight or putty cca 1cm from the hook, so the whole rig is pinned down, and just the end section is popped up.
You elimimate the possibility of tangles with pva even more.
Tight lines mate.
