I recently got this Curado DC 201hg used from ebay and it sounds weird. It sounds gritty, like something is off. It still fishes, but feels drastically different from the other DC reels I have. There is no smoothness.

Maybe needs oiling. I ain’t got a baitcaster, but still, try oiling the reel.

Take the reel out and clean it.

I think that’s the sound of the loose line slapping into the reels frame as the spool spins. Put a piece of tape on the line to hold it down and try it again.
