Fresh 12lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid line. Just tied a Tactical Angler power clip with a Palomar knot. First cast with a little topwater popper. Biggish fish struck it, I waited a half second to hook set and there was basically zero resistance when I pulled the rod. There are pike in the area, but the curl of the line makes it seem like it came untied rather than bitten. It's just so weird that a Palomar came loose so easily. Maybe user error…

I agree with you, looks like it slipped rather than broke
Yeah looks like it came untied to me given how it’s sort of bent in the shape of the knot
A properly tied palomar will not break before the line breaks. If a pike bit your line without a heavy leader theres a good chance that it’s teeth cut the line. You would see more kinks than that with a Palomar knot
Bad knot
I agree with knot came loose.
This calls for **DOUBLE PALOMAR KNOT**
It looks like the loop that the hook goes through wasn’t done properly. Maybe you thought you did it, it has happened to be before and it just snipes out when I go to tighten the knot.
