i got a deep scratch from i don't know what. should i do something about it? or is it purely cosmetic? will moisture weak the blank through the scratch?

Not much you can do. 90% chance it’s fine. If it’s not, you’ll find out soon enough if/when your rod snaps right there.

I’d worry more about the rod blowing up during the hookset and fish fight.
