Any one of you who actually had problems with the Ugly Tuff SS guides when using braid?
I did not realize that the one I purchased had SS guides. I'm receiving mine in a few weeks from my local shop (I'm not from the US) and I have a Daiwa RX LT 4000-C (from a previous rod) spooled with PE 1.0 Berkley Micro Braid x8 on standby. Bought it to pair with my Light setup and also so they can share lures.

I have a similar setup GX2 2-piece 2.1 m with a Penn Fierce IV 4000 spooled with Daiwa J-Braid X8 PE 1.2, and I’ve had no issues. What exactly are you concerned about?
Ugly stiks don’t do well with braid from what I’ve seen. Grooving becomes an issue after some time. It’ll only be made worse since you’re using pretty thin pe 1.0 line. But 8 strand braids are also smoother so maybe that’ll mitigate the issue
