Should I add a third bar towards the front of the yaks (where indicated) to support them or is the pvc enough? The weight distribution is pretty much centered over the wheels. I just finished this build and took it to the beach and back, so it's all good, but I'm wondering about long term storage on this. I'll be keeping the yaks on here until I need to put them in the garage (NY winters).
Also, any idea on how exactly the safety chains are supposed to be mounted on the trailer? I reconfigured mine because it was dragging on the street. There doesn't seem to be a specific spot for it, so I mounted something to keep the chain loose, but am not sure if it's ok.

Couldn’t hurt, but doubt it’s really needed. Maybe just move the first one closer to the tongue
You should rethink your strapping method. You are using ratchet straps that are also ratcheting down the paddles. Paddles will move and shift on the road and will cause the strap to loosen. Then your kayaks will fly away and start a new family down in Mexico.
Also, use the cam buckle straps.
I would also shift your forward wooden cross member forward like the other guy said. You want the PVC to sag a bit in the middle otherwise you’ll deform your hull.
