I’m pretty new to kayaking and fishing… (just started a month ago and it’s my latest hyperfixation) Went out on a 90 degree day the other day and had some of my best success yet. Local lake is only 25 feet deep but I had some very nice success targeting the deepest “and therefor coolest” areas caught a trout (almost had a second one but he popped off the hook at the surface) a couple of pretty good sized bass for me and a few lil guys as well including a pumkinseed sunfish

As it turns out fish wouldn’t bite anything but night crawlers… so my guess is they weren’t looking to use energy chasing on a hot day or bite something unnatural looking. Drop shot also really helped here.
