  1. See if someone around can do guide replacements. It can be pretty hard to find someone who does though, so you might have to make a lot of calls. I spent half the day calling around the other day for this same issue. From what I’ve heard, people who do rod repairs like that are usually cheap. $20 at most in most cases. I’m only getting charged $10. Call tackle shops, bigger stores like bass pro, Dunhams, places like that. You can try reaching out to fishing guide companies too. Custom rod builders can be a good option.

    Option B is you can do it yourself but you do need specific tools to do it and that can get very pricey. Way cheaper to just have someone do it, even if it means like an hour drive.

    It does take time too though for everything to cure properly so it will take a few days fyi.

  2. It is possible to fix, the guide needs to be replaced. A local tackle shop can probably get it done for btwn $10-20. It is possible to fix yourself, you would need to use a razor to scrape the epoxy and remove the guide, wrap a new guide with thread and then epoxy over the thread.
