All are 1/8 oz. I went a lil overboard on jigheads ordering the other week. Not totally sure what to use them with. I have loads of plastics to try with them. But got to many options. Help me narrow it down a bit. And what rod power and length would you guys recommend?

If you’re fishing cover I love putting craws on my jig heads I catch most off the cover using them. My medium rod has a minimum of 1/4 so I’m assuming you might need a medium light rod?

  2. Assumptions:,water temps in high 70s, stained 18” viz , fishing in the morning before it gets hot(ter)

    Top to bottom:
Large soft minnow in shad white

Twin tail crappie plastic in white, pink or chartreuse

Long 7” skinny purple or watermelon worm

Zoom super fluke watermelon or black

Ned sized salamander in brown or black

Dealers choice but if start with a white minnow w chartreuse tail

    mooch minnow in Shad

A jig skirt and some trailer in that same green as the head.

For 1/8 oz assuming you don’t BFS I’d do a medium light action rod but it’s got to have a lot of back bone to sink that single hook. Extra fast tip

I use a lot of stuff on 1/8th oz. 3in gulp minnows are probably my favorite, but you go through them quickly. The bobby garland crappie baits are another good one to use. If you want to look online NRV baits and Mule Fishing are also good places to find some baits.

For a rod I enjoy a 7 foot ultralight l. For a more expensive rod I enjoy using a Fenwick, but I also had a Shakespeare micro series from Walmart I got for 20$ and I really liked that one too
