I'm not new to fishing but new to light/ultralight. I've been searching online relentlessly, watching tons of Addicted Fishing and Fish Anything. I want that long distance cast on the lighter lures mainly targeting trout from the bank of lakes. Alot of the water I'm on the drop offs are far and I can't catch a damn thing on power bait, the waters are already heavy pressured with them, plus I want to stay moving. I don't see me trying to bomb anything less than 3/20 oz And I have another rod if I want to go above a 1/4oz or target other fish. If I'm going to fish anything lighter than a 1/16 It'd be just to experiment and I'de be on my paddle board minus throwing a fly out with a bobber which I haven't tried yet. Am I getting value for a good rod/reel here or are there better options cheaper/same price? Or do I head down for an ultralight?
