I’m kind of looking for a good detailed explanation on using weights in general and how to use them for specific fishing rods.

I’m still an amateur and just recently started to REALLY get into fishing, but anyway when it comes to using the right type of weight (size and literal weight) what works best for my medium-heavy rod?

Also, I notice so many different weights have different shapes, how does this effect fishing?

I plan on doing more research and looking up videos on this but I still would like to hear other’s perspectives. Thanks. 🎣

  1. Right, so basically you’re right will tell you what you can cast out without it snapping. It isn’t recommended to go over.

The different leads have different meanings, grip leads obviously to hold your bait still, smooth bullet looking ones roll around on the sea bed to give your bait movement we call them plains.

Little pear with little nobbles drag thru the sand and give movement to ur bait but are more used for flatties.
Pyramid weights are there to land in the sand and dig in.

It’s really all you need to know to start off with
