Hello everyone. I'm putting together a survival fishing kit. I used to fish in my teens with bamboo poles, but that was over 40 years ago. Today, I'm interested in survivalism and am putting together a fishing kit, since in my country, Brazil, there are several rivers and creeks everywhere.

Speaking of baits, I've got these four lined up on my shopping cart. I already have a braided line, hooks and floats. Now I'm looking to buy some baits.

In Brazil, we do have wide rivers, like the Amazon River, but from my own experience, traveling on rural roads, the most we encounter are creeks that flow into small / middle size ponds. And we usually don’t have mountain creeks with white water. Maybe that's why I'm not thinking about large baits or spinners.

Am I going in the right direction? Is 7g too much for a creek? My idea is to carry only two baits on my fishing kit. Perhaps three, but not more than that. What should I look for?

  1. I’d also look at soft plastics and jigs designed for crappie and trout.

Rooster tails, and spoons are pretty universal.
