I got this Shimano UltegraC5000XG on sale, thinking it might be good to use with an 11-foot rod for some surf fishing. I didn't realize the C stands for compact, and the reel looks really small. I was planning to use it for reds and black drum, but maybe that might not be a good idea, considering its size. What do ya'll think? Maybe also a shorter rod?
