Picked this tackle box up at an antique store for $45, and it feels like more than just a pile of lures. Inside were:
• Several Rapala Rattlin’ Raps
• A bunch of Mepps spinners
• A couple Williams Wablers
• The old “bloody minnow” Rapala
• A Heddon big Bud (already fooled a pike with it)
What really got me, though, is one lure marked “Tom’s lure.” It makes me feel like I’ve inherited a little piece of another angler’s story, like I’m carrying on their tradition every time I tie one on.
For those of you who’ve come across old tackle like this — do you keep the hooks as-is for the nostalgia, or swap them out so they’re fish-ready again?
