First pike and first bass within a day of each other. Last two years I’ve been catching nothing but bluegill and perch using worms, never had any luck with artificial lures until just yesterday. Feels pretty good, also what a fight these guys put up compared to what I’m used to. Reeling in that pike was some of the most fun I’ve had fishing so far. I kept the pike because I heard they were good eats and thought he was biggun until I realized they get to be much bigger and he’s actually relatively small. And tips for cleaning and cooking the guy?
