Personally those ones end up being catfish/pike bait. Or a nice fish sandwich if it’s big enough. Edit to add, use bigger hooks, or octopus or circle hooks. Sunnies are pond pirana and will absolutely maul whatever they think they can eat. It’s hard to avoid.

A bigger hook helps a lot. what helped me the most is if you bobber fish use a VERY light bobber. If you don’t then keep your line tight so you can feel when to set the hook better and don’t keep your pole tucked under your arm or against you float the rod handle in one hand and the reel handle in the other so every little bump transfers a lot.
