Has anyone experienced this ?? I got this rod about 2 months ago used it a hand full of times and I was about to take out on the water but noticed the reel seat isn’t secure to the rod blank it just spins. Is there an easy fix or if i do warranty it would st croix make me pay for this ?

  1. This was a known problem on a number of rod lines for St. Croix, most commonly the last model bassX and the legend tournament rods.

File a warranty claim they should replace it at no cost to you.

The glue that holds the reel seat to the rod has let go

If they give you a hard time, fuck em and get a G.Loomis Imx Pro and never look back lol

  2. Whoever built that rod took the term spinning rod literally id say. Looks like the reel seat isnt glued. Simply take the butt cap off, take the cork handle off, sand off the cork residue, glue the reel seat in, gently ream out your cork handle to get rid of any rough spots, test fit, apply glue, let dry, and then apply butt cap. I mean its not that hard πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. But seriously id take it back to the store or call st croix(?) If I remember thats who you said made the rod. Thats 100% a manufacturer defect and I can almost guarantee you that rod was made on a monday or friday really close to quitting time

This is one of the most common problems with St Croix rods. Put in a warranty claim or enquire on how to fix it yourself.
