I don’t remeber how or when I got this Abu Garcia spinning reel but it’s worked for a few years now . I run 10lb spider wire on it but the action is staring to get rough and “choppy” ; parts are getting loose

I’ve always jokingly said “I couldn’t catch a cold” so I’m not looking to blow the budget on a fancy high end reel, maybe $100 max range for 2026

Seconding the Pflueger President XT. You can usually find one on sale for around $100.
It’s my favorite reel. Absolute workhorse.
Okuma Ceymar HD. This new updated Ceymar is extremely durable and saltwater rated. Extremely smooth too.
