Here for 6 days (big sky Montana) pretty shallow, but I just got some waders and I’m ready to try

With a dry dropper and a smile on my face. Hope you enjoy your stay here!

Fly all day – dry probably but also bead head nymphs on a floating line.

Happily and with my work phone turned off.

I’d tie on a hopper pattern. In that specific section, I’d just cover lots of water fairly quickly, then walk upstream and look for bends and slightly deeper pools.

Hopper dropper. Some brown will come out of nowhere and hit the hopper so hard it will scare you. I’m getting scared just looking at these photos.

It’ll fish. The meadow section can be fun, but it does see its fair share of pressure. With as much great access as the G has, I’d recommend fishing many different spots!

Is it against the rules to say I’d throw a roostertail with my spinning rod first?

Just an FYI the stretch of river just above town is not as fishy as down in the canyon.
Fish upstream with a dry, cover the water, don’t spend long in any one place.

Tight-lining small princies and hare’s ears through every little pocket I can hit.

Any floater but always search for the deepest part of the run..they love structure and sit in the less drag spots and just pick off what’s coming by. Good luck.

All the ways. That looks like really good Trout Spey with a scandi head tandem soft hackle type water but I’d fish that all the ways.

Grasshoppers still around?
Pry cool at night so any hatch activity will likely be later in the day or afternoon.
Something larger indicating floating on top. Hopper, humpy, stimulator. And then something small and beaded dropping, first try dark then go flashy if no action.
