I've mostly done spinning and fly fishing throughout my life, want to expand from smallies and brook trout. There's some bigger rivers around me and I'm thinking of trying to do some bank fishing for flatheads. BPS has a combo with the 6500 C3 and various length of CatMaxx rods. I'm not sure what length rod I should go with, surf isn't an issue but I want to be able to fling it out into the channel as far as I can. They range from 7-11' and medium heavy-heavy. I also am a little unsure of what side I want the retrieve, being right handed. Right seems the more classic set up on a baitcaster, but I've retrieved on my left my whole life. Any advice? Or other set ups I should look into?
