So i currently have an ugly stik gx2. Decent fishing rod can’t complain at all. Came across a problem and I’m not sure what’s this part called so I can replace it.

  1. Hopefully it served you well. I like to spend a touch more than that on a rod and reel, to help guarantee a better rod. My $100 Pfleuger Presidente has been amazing this season.

  2. While you can remove and replace your reel seat it’s probably not worth the effort since it’s not a high end rod blank. If you wanted to diy it might be worth a shot and YouTube is a great resource. Personally, I’d fix it with some electrical tape and keep on chugging with the thought to use it as my backup in the future.

  3. Reel seat locking nut hood. No fixin’ without taking everything off from the top down. Guides, foregrip… Time for the ol’ “Tennessee” style handle.

  4. Rod builder here. It’s called a “hood”

You cannot replace it without removing the guides, or cutting the grips off and breaking the epoxy on the reel seat to remove it. Not to sound mean, but that’s a very cheap rod, and you could go buy three or four new ones for the same price as fixing it. Put a zip tie around the reel foot and seat, or use this as an excuse to treat yourself to a new rod.

  5. They have a great warranty Just call them and submit a claim and you’ll have a new rod in a few days
