Bro you don’t need a 30 lb tipet ..for that I caught trout on 7.8 lb that was bigger…like I’ll use 20lb for chinook salmon an they come in 25lb avg body weight. Makes fight fun

I use 20 lbs because there’s not many oysters where I fish, otherwise I’d be using 30 also.

I totally agree and understand that small tip it has purpose in certain presentation scenarios, especially with trout and stuff.
BUT man I use 20 pound flouro 90% of the time fishing for any non trout species and never have issues. Anything willing to chase a big clouser or smash a popper doesn’t seem to mind that much. I don’t even run a taper or anything, I just feel like a lot of people fall for stuff that catches the fisherman versus the fish.
