You need more tension on the line when spolning it.

Inconsistent tension while spooling. Try putting tension on the spool itself instead of tension on the line going onto the reel. I personally hold the line with my feet, label up, while allowing the line to roll off the spool.

A couple casts with a heavier lure and it will flatten out on the spool.
