Will my rods for stripers in MA work for salmon in OR?

I've got an 8ft medium big water ugly stick big water, and this 9ft medium heavy mod. fast penn fierce. Is the 8ft too short, and the 9ft too stiff for salmon?

Would like to target coho and king in OR and SW WA from the bank!
