Inherited a whole lot of Fly gear. Can anyone help me get a handle on what I have?

You scored dude! You got everything you could possibly need. Only thing I would recommend is testing out the leader line to make sure it’s not rotten

surely there is another rod or three laying around to use with the eleven reels here? Great inheritance though, sorry for your loss.

The scientific angler is the best leader in fluro in my experience!
Also what kind of hat is that? A badge? From what? Its sick as hell! Absolutely a requirement for when out on the banks!

That hat is a fish magnet for sure. Save some for the rest of us.

Some good stuff in there, I see an orvis CFO (appears to be disc drag version) and what appears to be a green JW Young Condex, which if that is the case is probably the most interesting thing in the photo (young was a British maker that made some high quality but affordable workhorse reels. I have a few and love the green ones). The vise is a renzetti traveler and is top notch.

Nice haul. Sorry for your loss. Yea that’s a lot of reels but good to have.

Most important thing whether you fish or not. Don’t sell or donate anything. Several great reels visible and I would guess tons of other items of value even if not usable on the water.

You got one Grade A Buford T. Justice trooper cap for sure

Don’t get rid of any of it! You inherited some nice, quality items. What is the model and numbers (wt. / length) say on your Orvis rod in the olive tube?

Holy shite. What you’ve got there is amazing. Some of the reels are meh, but others are classic gold. The vice is one of the best. And the hat! Wow.

I think there are some older redington reels (the wood handle), those are real good I still use them, I could be wrong though.
