Tried to keep her clean, but the bank was sketch, and I wasnt trying to break my expensive rod. Had her back in the water squeeky clean within 30s. Weightless senkos have been absolute money lately.

    In the future. Pine needles are acidic. They burn like hell to fish. That being said, helluva catch. Gotta love those late season lunkers.

    I usually clear me a little landing pad, since plain dirt and regular leaves dont really bother them. I was fishing for 25 years before I learned. It was a mushroom hunter told me.

    I looked into it after the fact. The pine needles lower the ph of the soil, which is why he was there looking for mushrooms. Fish are one big mucus membrane.
