Im new to sonar and would like to start learning how to use them.
Does anyone have any ideas or tips on how I can use this on boat rentals? As far as portability, Is it as easy as throwing the transducer into the water on slower boat speeds?

You’d need to design a mount for the transducer that holds it 100% vertical in the water even while moving to get accurate readings. Considering the cone shape of the transducer that’s going to be very difficult. You really need to buy a compatible boat transducer or you’ll be in for a frustrating experience.
