I know the basics but have some dumb questions google doesn’t want to answer if you guys don’t mind (for context im in upstate NY, fishing lakes and shallow/narrow rivers)

-how well do live worms work at night ?

-will fish still hit topwater at night when the air temp is lower (like 50ish degrees?)

-are lures that don’t vibrate much (im thinking texas rigged soft plastics, inline spinners, baitfish or grub swimbaits etc) even worth using?

anything other tips wld be appreciated, i’ve caught a couple fish at night but rlly just by luck, most of the time i get skunked. thanks !

  1. From my reading, you’ll want to use some noisy lures since the fish find food based off vibration when they can’t see. One of the popular ones is rooster tails, they got a spoon spinner thing up front with feathers near the end followed by the treble hook.

Something I see every time someone has asked about night fishing was to ensure you have bug spray, just a tip I see.
